Last year, Samantha was given the devastating news that her daughter Zoe has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and treatment started immediately for the 6 year old.

The family were taking time off work to help transport can care for Zoe during treatment, but after a couple of months it was becoming much more difficult to juggle with work due to visits increasing to three to four times a week.

“We didn’t think transport would add to the turmoil. It was a great relief when we learnt of the Leukaemia Foundation transport service.

First hand experience with the Leukaemia Foundation has helped Martin Gillespie understand the importance of their work and fundraising.

“Thanks to these fun fundraising events, like the Tour de Lounge, I know it’s possible for the Leukaemia Foundation to continue their passion to support and care for blood cancer patients” said Martin, who was diagnosed with lymphoma.

“Little was known about the lymphoma or even blood cancer, before the diagnosis. It was the Foundation that helped me gain a greater understanding of the journey- the funds raised helps.

In 2014 Loungers raised over $63,000 for Australians living with a blood cancer; a truly incredible contribution. Will you help us to do that again?

The funds raised made an enormous difference to so many lives which is exactly why we all get involved. Well that and the opportunity to “ride alongside” some cycling legends.
